Welcome to Mum-Bees Honey Farm
We're Laurie and Bob, the family behind Mum-Bees Honey Farm.
Bob has been a beekeeper for more than 25 years and has a deep passion for helping others discover the rewarding world of beekeeping. Early in his journey, he was mentored by world-renowned beekeeper Leo Hubbard, who taught him simple, old-world beekeeping methods centered on respecting the bees and working with nature. Those principles still guide everything we do today.
During the COVID years, we built what was originally meant to be a small storage shed for our beekeeping supplies. As the building began to take shape, we realized it could become something more — a small farm shop where we could share our honey and beekeeping supplies with the community. That little shed quickly turned into a cozy storefront offering:
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we have quickly outgrown that space. Because of this growth, we are expanding our shop to offer regular business hours, additional products, and more opportunities to host workshops and small events. One of our greatest joys is gathering with others who share a love for bees, nature, and sustainable living.
We are also excited to introduce something new to the area — Bee Bed Wellness Therapy.
Bee Bed Therapy is a unique wellness experience where guests rest in a small wooden structure built above active beehives, safely separated from the bees. While relaxing, visitors experience the gentle vibrations of the hive along with the warm, honey-scented air created by the bees. Many people find the experience deeply calming and restorative, reporting benefits such as reduced stress, improved sleep, and a stronger sense of connection to nature. This practice is inspired by traditional European apitherapy and offers a peaceful way to experience the natural rhythm of the hive.
Family is at the heart of everything we do. Bob and I have two grown children, a wonderful son-in-law, and two grandchildren who are truly the light of our lives. Mum-Bees Honey Farm is built on our love for family, our appreciation for this community, and our desire to share the incredible gifts that bees provide.
We are grateful for the support we have received and look forward to welcoming you to Mum-Bees Honey Farm.
With gratitude,
Laurie & Bob
